Juvenile success for Kings Park

Kings Park juvenile Atlantic Yacht broke through for his first win in
William Inglis Cup over 5 furlongs .Atlantic Yacht was having his 3rd start and previously had ran 11th first out over 3 furlongs and was badly interfered with at his 2nd outing being checked badly finishing 18th. Stalking the just off the pace Atlantic yacht was able to work into the race and finish strong to get the win. We feel that this horse will further improve over a little further and will be looking at another race soon.

First Win of the Season

Waltz on the Stars broke through for the stables first win for the season with a good strong performance to take out the Ian Mcewen Trophy Stakes over 1000m on the turf by 1.4 lengths. Waltz on the Stars recorded a nice 110 PSR .

The Voice having his first start of the season looked to be cruising for the easiest of wins in his 1200m G3 event until folding badly at the top of the straight to knock up and finish 10 lengths back in 5th position. This horse expended all his energy by the time they had entered the stretch, if ridden quietly he would for certain be right in the finish instead over racing produces a dud performance. This is a real concern that may see this horse have to be restricted to the shortest possible races. His previous 2 starts at 5f and 5.5f produced PSR's of 108 and 101 the further step up to 6f see's a dramatic drop off in his numbers with a PSR of just 71.

Another 2yo bites the dust for Kings Park with first starter Eternity Road finishing 10th of 18 having started at 40/1 and not fancied at all by the Hrf bookmakers .

Disappointments

The stable had 5 unraced 2yo's for this season and 3 of them have gone to the races and each in turn been well beaten. This is by far will be the toughest and most competitive 2yo season in Pf history, so its going to be hard and the results so far have just reflected this. Onwards to the next week we must go and our best hope 2yo Dansilver filly Eternity Road will step out for her first start this week.

Let's Race

The first weeks racing for season 2010 is carded and ready to run , Kings Park will be sending 2 runners to the first weeks racing.

4yo Stallion Waltz on the Stars will contest the W. H. Wylie Handicap stakes over 1000m on turf, this looks a good race to start out the season and the stable is confident of a good showing here over the 5f dash .

2yo colt Atlantic Yacht makes his racing debut in the hotly contested Lightning Stakes over 600m on the dirt. The stable is hopeful without placing any expectations, Atlantic Ace is very mature and forward in condition and looks to be well suited to the shorter distances at this stage. A big field of 20 runners makes this a very hard race.

The Voice

Who's The Voice you say? Well We cannot argue with that, The Voice has not found his voice so to speak yet but its coming this season trust me. Just how loud is the question, The Voice started 6 times as a 2yo and never troubled the judge once for a even a place. He found himself off to Endless vista during the off season and there he stayed for all but the last few weeks of his 3yo year until Kings Park gave him a new home.He had 3 runs for us and his last 2 races showed the promise that is to come this season. An unlucky 4th in an allowance at Shenandoah Downs over 5.5f when blocked out of the finish and then running a bold 2nd in the Sir John Monash Stakes over 5f at caulfield and picking up his first cheque for his career in his 9th start. PSR's in these last 2 races where a healthy 101 and 108 and that's compared to his previous best of 67 as a 2yo. He wont be a maiden for long now if he can keep this up, and who knows how loud that voice will get...

Waltz On The Stars

Near the end of last season Kings Park bought then 3yo Waltz On The Stars from Ballydoyle stable for the tidy Sum of $50,000.This was Kings Parks first new buy towards the re-building of the stable and future PF dominance. Waltzy really looked promising as a 2yo but must of really had Trainer Amanda from Ballydoyal pulling her hair out with his rapid decline as a 3yo and disappointing efforts.Well I think I can turn this fellow around and turn him into the specialist short course sprinter that he was meant to be but was not suppose to be, he looks good and hopes are high that Waltz On The Stars will live up to that promise he once showed and have his best season yet as a 4yo.
